Role-playing Forum Rules
1. Avoid spamming
Do not post in a role-play which you have not joined (moderators are exempt).
Do not post a role-play designed so that it is only two people posting to each other (back-to-back posting). Keep it to private message. An example of what not to do is here.
Do not nag the topic poster, with reminders about when the role-play will begin, as it is rude and impolite.
Double posting is not allowed by participants, please use the edit button instead.
2. Plagiarising plots is not allowed
Do not attempt to post a role-play which is a duplicate of another, without the original poster's permission.
3. Avoid Godmodding (being overpowered, invincible, etc)
It is unfair and unenjoyable for the other participants.
4. Out of Character Talk
Place all out of character talk inside a set of double parenthesis (brackets), so; ((…)) or {{…}} or [[…]]. Do not post meaninglessly in that manner (it must be on-topic with the role-play).
5. Minimum required info for a Role-play
Role-plays must at least contain:
-Plot / Backstory
-Thread Specific Rules
-Character Form
6. Avoid Scripting
Do not post in a way which is similar to a script for a play:
Character A: Dialogue
Character B: *action* Dialogue
Write as if the role-play was a novel, in full with no abbreviations. This means no asterisks to convey action, instead write the action in full sentences.
7. Role-plays which have not received a reply in 30 days will be locked
This is to prevent any potential bumps or necrobumps. If you would like your thread reopened, PM the Global Moderators.
8. Keep up with the role-plays you are in
If you know that you are not going to be able to actively participate or that you will be too busy to be replying in the role-play, don't sign up. It is kind of like a commitment and you should at least be able to reply every few days at the most.
9. Image copyrights
When you use an image for your character appearance make sure that you provide a link to where you received the image so that proper ownership can be attributed to the right person. If you want to know the code for this type of image linking then it is-
