What spin-off would you like to see? Pokemon has had many spin-off games from the actual series themselves. Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Snap, Rangers, Rescuers/Explorers, Conquest, and perhaps one or two others that I'm leaving out.
What I'm curious about is what spin-off would you like Nintendo to create next, any specific ideas you had for it or reasons why you want that spin-off more than any other?
For me I'd love to see them create a Pokemon Snap 2. Now that we have even better 3D games even on the 3DS itself I'd love to see what they could create. Especially now that we have so many different Pokemon, the original game only had the first 151 Pokemon in it. It seems like this one-off game just doesn't get the love that it deserves for how great it was.
How great is it to be able to throw pester balls at Pokemon, seeing them get knocked around a little bit, shaking their head and sometimes getting angry at you or running away. The Charmanders that would waddle over to you and cry for attention, swarming you as you threw apples for them. Or the Electabuzz you had to lure into shocking some things so that you could snap that special photograph for Oak? Or even the intense "fight" with Mew just to get that perfect photograph of the cute cat Pokemon?
Several years ago on another chat all the people who had been talking got onto the topic of a Pokemon Snap 2 and we spent nearly an hour just putting out random ideas that they could use. How we could include all the Pokemon that exist, especially the legendaries, in special and fun circumstances that would make it fun and puzzling to get things just right.
How we imagined Dialga would ram across the track, knocking your ship off course onto a new area entirely. Getting a perfect image of Kyogre vs Groudon and trying to wake up Rayquaza nearby, then waiting for the exact moment you'd get the best photo of them all together.
There's so many different things that could be added into the game to make it not only long and exciting but also replayable, keeping players wanting to figure out all the little hidden secrets and puzzles within the game itself. Perhaps you can only see Arceus if you manage to do a super-secret combination of things throughout the level. Or some other thing that lets you see special Pokemon, like the spiky-eared Pichu.
What would be the spin-off game you want to see, and what would you want to see in it?

I'm hoping for a mystery dungeon version for 3DS that includes the X and Y pokemon. Just imagining the sharp cut graphics of the 3DS with the mystery dungeon themes and layouts. *fangirl squeal* Mystery dungeon alone is an epic spinoff, and with a great plot, music, graphics, and design, the game is pure gold in my eyes. If it is made, I will really be pleased with gamefreak. I wonder how mega evolution would be tied into the series. Even more of a reason for it to be implemented! ^^

I think it'd be neat to see sort of like a Nintendogs game except with Pokemon, heh. Like Pokemon Amie just with more things to do. Pokemon Amie is probably my favorite part of X/Y, and I'd actually hoped for something where you could interact with your Pokemon for a while. So having a game focusing entirely on that would be so amazing. Unlikely I suppose, but I'm still hoping for it >w>

Oh wow, I never even thought of that type of spin-off. Nintendogs was pretty fun up until the point that it was just taking far too long to even get anything and I just drifted off playing it.
I can't imagine how fun a Pokemon game would be that was like that. I wonder how they'd do any battle-type of thing. Perhaps there could be two different versions of it, one where you're raising them to be battlers and another where they're for contests, with different mini-games and such for each type.
I imagine if it's not something official that Nintendo puts out someone who enjoys creating simple games and such might one day think to create something like this, I'm sure quite a few people would love to play it. Now that I've heard about the idea I know that I would love this. XP

Pokken. For those unaware, Pokken is the fan name for a theoretical Pokemon/Tekken fighting game. Fighting games are a genre that is surprisingly deep in terms of strategy and tactics, beating out the Pokemon meta depending on who you ask. Combining the Pokemon meta with a fighting game meta would be really interesting. Imagine a fighting game in which you have a lot of different attacks, but you can only use four of them. Those four could be used in different ways. For example, Fire Punch can be executed as a heavy attack or a quick jab depending on how it was executed. The customization options for metagame players would be insane, and for casual players a few recommended lists can be set up. Each Pokemon would have stats mirroring their in game stats, like Weavile being fast but having a weaker block, or Conkeldurr being slow but doing massive damage.
Now, obviously, such a game would not include all 718 Pokemon. One of the recent Street Fighter games shipped with over 40 characters, and that was considered a lot. However, if the same moves were kept the same for all Pokemon that can use them, it would be easier to program maybe 50-100 mons into the game. These would be, for obvious reasons, be mostly humanoid Pokemon. This would be for the sake of gameplay, as programming a kick that looks and works decently would be difficult with Dialga or something. Though, large characters like Dialga or Yveltal can be programmed in as bosses, similar to how Rayquaza worked in Brawl. The main issue with a game like this is how easily a character can become broken, but just like the Ubers system we have in the main metagame, something can be worked out.
I've put way too much thought into this, but alas, it will probably never happen. Would be fun though!
Alternatively, Shadow Pokemon 3 comes out, and Amie turns into a new way to help purify them. Of course, the old way of battling will be there, but Amie would probably replace the PC purification system in XD.

Hm, that does sound like a great idea Shiny. I know that Digimon got a more side-scrolling fighting game so it seems like Pokemon should join in. I mean if the series that Pokemon basically duelled with from the beginning has some pretty great fighting games it would be nice to see Pokemon do it as well, especially when there's so many different types of Pokemon or styles that you could use.
It's certainly something that could be done through constant testing, to figure out which characters might end up broken and then implementing someting to fix that. Perhaps make them a little laggy on certain attacks that made them too powerful, or make an attack combination and therefore harder and requiring more skill to actually activate. Or at least that's one thing that I can imagine someone doing.
Even if it might not ever happen officially perhaps it could, again, be a more unofficial game that someone creates. I've seen some fighting games for official things that people have made just for fun which were pretty good. I'd love to see one like this for Pokemon.
Oooh, I would love to see Amie become the new purification. It would make it a lot more fun than simply sitting at the mart buying up tons of scents to get their bar down quickly so you can just purify them already. And it could provide an even bigger challenge when you're trying to purify that boss legendary.

Anyone played PokePark? The barely okay games? I played the first one, and it was sort of fun. The most fun I had was, without a doubt, though, battling other Pokemon. It was really simplistic and easy, but if it was built more on that alone, I feel it could be an amazing game. Somewhat like Pokken, but less Tekken. It still maintains a lot of the stuff from the RPG series, such as moves and stats, but not turn based and we can aim to hit. Some Pokemon will probably be overpowered thanks to their speed (Ninjask), but Swift and other no miss moves will probably handle the situation. It'll make the game more skill based as well, eliminating a lot of the random chance of missing and crits.

Pokémon Dash 2, preferably on the 3DS.
The main differences from the first game would be Circle-Pad controls now, and a wider variety of characters to play as. Maybe there could be the option to evolve/Mega Evolve in a race, just to give some extra power-ups. I'd also hope that it could use the camera angle that's used in PokéPark, just so it's not birds' eye view. Another tweak could be changing the tracks so that you don't need to use balloons, but maybe still having Lapras sections, with the air parts using bird Pokémon instead (maybe Drifblim riding?). Basically, a complete re-imagining of the first game, but with much more diversity and typical racing game elements. Oh, and being able to have Pokémon in save files from other 3DS games be shaped into tracks would be a great feature to return, too.

Something platform-ish like Mario or Sonic, but with Pokemon. At the end of each level you rescue a Pokemon and can play as them in the next level if you wish. Maybe a stretch, but possibly having 1 level for each Pokemon. At least the game would be long enough. After a certain time you would go to a dungeon and fight a legendary, that you would only be able to use in a level if you got a certain item. Your type would correspond with the type of the legendary you use, so if you're a water type, the legend you use as a power-up in the level would be a water type as well.
Meh just an idea. I like platforming.
