Writing Beta Thread

This thread will be dedicated to something called "Beta reading". This is when people agree that they will have a story that another person writes sent to them, whether it's the full story, chapter by chapter, or even a simple scene.

The beta reader will then read through what is sent to them and, depending on what the writer wants, may make changes throughout the material or offer up suggestions on things that may need to be changed or cut out.

A beta reader can be very helpful in finding mistakes you've made in your writing, or simply flesh out scenes that you yourself aren't as good at writing. Having a good beta reader on your side makes life a lot easier and here will be a good place to find some for your work.

How Do I Become a Beta Reader?
I see that you're interested in helping others with their writing. Well then, the first thing you'll want to do is to set up a post here explaining why you'd be a good beta reader. Examples are describing what type of material you're best with, such as better at writing silly comedies or perhaps you're best with scary stories.

Also describe what you'd be willing to do for a writer, such as editing what they've written to make it all work better, or perhaps writing out a scene that a writer wasn't as good at doing.

Simply put the more explanations of what your strengths and weaknesses are then the more chance that a writer is going to want to ask you for your help. 

Once you've made your post at the top of it you will put "I want to be a Beta Reader". This helps me know that you're making your post for it. That post is only for your Beta Reader information. It will be linked to within this first post so that writers can check out the various Beta Readers and even contact them directly.

How do I Hire a Beta Reader?
That's simple you see. You simply look through this thread and, once we get a few Beta Readers posted up, read through what they can accomplish and what they're willing to do. Find one that you like or that suits what you're wanting.

Wanting a Beta Reader who is going to write up a scene for you? Once we get Beta Readers signing up we'll have different sections for what each reader is willing to do. Then you can just click away to their Information Post and then PM them directly with what you're interested in. Please PM them only for this, don't spam up this thread with your direct conversation.

However if there's no Beta Reader you're interested in go ahead and write up an information post on what exactly you're wanting done. Describe what you've got done and what you want the Beta Reader to do for you. Once you have that posted a Beta Reader who can do that can then PM you directly and give you information to help you decide if you want to hire them.
